Het Diamant Museum Amsterdam neemt u mee op een reis die 3 miljard jaar geleden begon, 200 kilometer onder het aardoppervlak, en eindigt bij de ring om uw vinger of het sieraad om uw hals. Een fascinerend verhaal dat u niet mag missen. Na uw bezoek aan het museum bent u van harte welkom in onze koffiecorner voor een drankje of kunt u naar hartelust rondkijken in de museumwinkel.

Onderweg dringt u door tot in een koolstofatoom, ontmoet u de specialisten die een ruwe steen omvormen tot een sprankelend juweel, bekijkt u talloze beroemde schitterende diamanten en ziet u de kleinste briljant geslepen diamant ter wereld door een microscoop. U hoort meer over Amsterdam – diamantstad en al meer dan vier eeuwen lang centrum van verwerking en handel, leert zelf een echte diamant van imitatie te onderscheiden en betreedt ten slotte de grootste diamant waar u omringd wordt door sterren van over de hele wereld.




Naast de permanente collectie 'Brilliant Beauties' is er een tijdelijke tentoonstelling over de kroon, het symbool van koninklijke macht en wereldse glorie.

A visit to the Diamond Museum
The Diamond Museum Amsterdam takes you on a journey that began 3 billion years ago, 200 kilometres under the surface of the earth, and which ends in the ring on your finger or in the pendant around your neck. A fascinating story that should not be missed. After your journey in the museum you are more then welcome to have a drink in our coffee corner, or to have a look in the museum shop.



Along the way you will penetrate as far as the carbon atom, meet the specialists who transform a rough stone into a sparkling jewel, be surroundes by many famous glittering diamonds and see the smallest brilliant diamond in the world with a microscope. You can learn about Amsterdam - City of Diamonds, centre of diamond processing and trade for more than four centuries, distinguish between a real and an imitation diamond for yourself an finally, enter the largest diamond in which stars from around the world encircle you.




In addition to the permanent collection 'Brilliant Beaties', there is a temporary exhibition devoted to the crown, the symbol of royal power and the worldly glory.
You will see exemples from around the world and from all ages.
